212: Peel

31 07 2010

I gots the crazies again.

Since I got my laptop, Nanashi, I haven’t removed the plastic scratch protector on the cover. Now its exposed adhesive side is filled with all sorts of dirt, lint, gunk and other stuff that’s likely bad for health. Today, almost two years since its purchase, I finally decided to remove the plastic sheet… then proceed to wrap my face with it. Yes. Amazing, isn’t it?

Yucky stuff in there

Peeling it off! Oh, dear!

Just look at the lovely matte surface! It’s beautiful~

211: Organism, Naturalism

30 07 2010

There’s a leaf in my soap!

I bought this organic Neem soap in Echo Village Store (#69 Esteban Abada St, Loyola Heights, QC), hoping that it’ll put an end (or at least suppress) my pimples which have been acting up lately. For 95 pesos, it’s pretty steep, but it doesn’t melt so quickly so I’m expecting it’ll last for a long time.

Know what? I think it’s working! I still get pimples, but they’re less in number. I hope it really does work.

210: It’s a Family Affair

29 07 2010

For one of my classes, I had to make a Genogram, which was like a family tree only a bit more detailed. It included birth and death dates, type of relationship, occupation, etc. The requirement was 4 generations: me, my parents, my grandparents, and great grandparents. I had to ask my parents, aunts and uncles for the information I needed. I found out a lot of funny anecdotes as well. If you full view the photo you could see how many siblings both my parents had, a fact that gave me a headache when I was laying out the genogram on paper. I did have fun, though. I learned a lot.

p.s. I iz not nekkid here.

The title is from a song by Sly and the Family Stone,  NOT a hentai anime. <__<

209: Bulilit

Because I’ve been told I look younger with my hairdo.

Then again, I’ve always been told that I look younger. :p

208: Stars and Guitars

27 07 2010

Throughout the whole day, I had the phrase “Stars and Guitars” in my head. Maybe because I was wearing my starry blouse. I had the idea that it was the title of a song or name of a band or album. As it turns out, it’s an album by country singer Willie Nelson. Hmmm. I’m not a fan of country, so I have no idea why I thought of it. Is there an OPM group, song or album with the same name?

Anyway, today turned out to be an opportunity for me to take down my old guitar and strum on it a bit. It’s been ages since I held a guitar and it’s been even longer since I actually played something. When I started taking drum lessons I’ve hardly touched a guitar, so it’s not a surprise that I can’t play whole songs anymore. The only songs I could play from start to finish would be Blackbird and Eleanor Rigby by the Beatles. Plus, I’d be very slow in shifting chords by now. I’m not even sure if that’s an actual chord I’m playing there. LOL. I need practice.

207: Relearning What Has Been Unlearned

26 07 2010

Drafting class. ew.

This was the class I had tried to skip, but the department head wouldn’t let me, so I’m taking it this semester. The prof was surprised to see me on the first day, asking, “what are you doing here?” Anyway, I’m there, so I’ll just have to live with it. I actually haven’t by-the-book drafted anything for a couple of years. Then again, I’ve never really drafted by-the-book. I always did some sort of shortcut or modified method or, in the case of my work, freehand. So this class really made me feel… constricted.

I still use the general  principles of Language of Line and drafting standards, but the one thing that disturbs me to the core is block lettering. I’ve never been good at it, and no matter how much practice I do, I never seem to get the hang of it. Add to that the years of using my own style of lettering, my proper “American National Standard Alphabet” has diminished to nothingness.

So, as I said, I’ll just have to live with it.

206: My Non-offspring

25 07 2010

Of the three kids of my cousin, the youngest, Jerome, is the only one who took after his father. Therefore, he doesn’t look like the rest of us. His sister and brother are said to look more like me than their mom, so I always referred to them as my children. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love JJ just as much. He’s adorable and a real bundle of joy. His incoherent rambling confusing and funny, and is reminiscent of his older brother who didn’t start speaking clearly until he was 4 or 5. He’s sweet and truly a bunso, which gets him spoiled by everybody.
